We are LIVE with new site, including Senior Care!!

We did it! We are live!! After many long nights and early mornings of building, testing and tweaking, we have launched our new site design that includes senior care. What do you think? We would *love* to hear your thoughts, comments, feedback, etc. Comment here, or else write us at info@caresquare.com.

All of the functionality and information from the old site is here - plus much more. New features include:

• Senior Care services
• Full SMS/Text integration - mobile Caresquare! Caregivers  can receive appointment requests and respond to them via text message. Families can receive appointment confirmations on requests via text. Go to your profile page and click on the Edit Pencil next to your phone number to get set up. Or else go into Settings to get set up. Picture below to show you how it's done.
• News Feeds on your My Caresquare page to let you know what your community is doing on the site
• Caregiver social networking
• More robust Reference capabilities

Oh man am I sick. Sick sick sick. Fever, chills, sweats, my skin feels uncomfortable on my body. Working from bed. Not glamorous. Three days and running. When will it break?

Logging in is such a waste of time

I love the internet. I love everything about it's ease of use, and the rapidity with which I can gain access to canonical information about any topic I wish.

What I hate about the internet is logging in. I hate registration, I hate logging in. My computer should know which sites I want to be logged into without me having to log in.....I surfed to this web page so obviously I want to be here, stop making me log in all the time.

Perhaps the technology behind keyboard stroke recognition could help solve this problem.

The aging of the boomer generation will soon put an absolutely tremendous strain on our nation's health services industry, in the area of senior care in particular.  Boomers will increasingly turn to online services and communities to address their home health care needs. Caresquare will create a community and a marketplace for these services.   

Background checks, and Caresquare on the news

Lots of stuff happening at Caresquare these days - we just launched background checks! For $45 a parent can run a check on a caregiver, or a caregiver can run one on themselves. These background checks are the most complete coverage you can find, and cover the following:

• Name, Address and Social Security number verification

• National Criminal Search

• County Criminal Search - covers all the holes in the National Criminal Search database

• Sex Offender Registries Search

• State Driving Records - when valid driver's license is supplied.

Just click on the Background Checks tab on any caregiver profile to see an existing check or order a new one.

Job Boards are making great matches

I hope you are loving the job boards as much as I am! I posted a job last week because my husband and I are in need of a date night and I quickly got several responses from excellent nearby babysitters.  I’ve noticed that other parents are posting jobs as well and caregivers are responding.  This is great - I sincerely hope this has been helpful for families and caregivers.  If you’ve had a good experience with a caregiver from Caresquare, you can help them find more work by leaving them a reference on their Caresquare profile.  Just go to their profile, click on the reference tab, and say a few words about them and your experience working with them. It will also be helpful to other parents in your community to see that you’ve had a good experience with a caregiver they might be interested in working with as well.  This is really what Caresquare is all about!
